Your first year in South Dakota FBLA: a simple game plan
New to South Dakota FBLA? Here's how to make the most of your first conference season, from picking an event to surviving SLC.
Your first year in South Dakota FBLA is about trying things. Go to the Fall Leadership Conference — it's the easiest way to meet members from other schools and see what FBLA is all about.
Pick one competitive event that matches something you already like. Love talking? Try a speaking event. Love numbers? Try accounting or personal finance. Not sure? Take our event finder quiz on the Join page.
Start preparing in January, not March. Most events have published guidelines and sample tests on the national FBLA site — use them.
At the State Leadership Conference, cheer on your chapter, attend the workshops, and watch the officer elections. Next year that could be you.
